An intelligent young leader and a champion for positive change. Ana was a beautiful soul that was admired by so many and beloved by everyone one she came in touch with. Ana Patiño, of Charlotte, NC passed away on February 4th, 2022, at her home in Charlotte. She was born on November 5th, 1997, in Bogota, Colombia and came to the U.S at the age of 17 to pursue her dream of obtaining an American education. She was a two-time Wingate graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Finance earned in 2019 and a Master of Accounting earned in 2021. Before Wingate University, she attended Central Piedmont Community College. Ana was working at Bank of America within the financial rotational program as a financial analyst.

Ana was a beacon of hope and a trailblazer in so many ways. Her story begins as an immigrant and a first generation college student in the U.S. With her, she brought a spirit and love for providing a helping hand through inspiration and storytelling like no other. She was known and loved by so many for her dedication, work ethic, charming spirit, and loving soul. She had a way of connecting with others, making everyone feel special and immediately having an impact on everyone that she came across. Her bright spirit is one for us to remember and love forever. She touched the hearts of so many and mentored her peers and generations to follow. Ana worked diligently to earn her degrees, stay involved in leadership pursuits, win academic scholarships, and most importantly give back to her community. Ana’s impact is immeasurable, and her impact will surely last a lifetime given the incredible accolades she was able to achieve and the individuals she motivated in the process. She advocated for many that had less than her and was incredibly humble with her many accomplishments.
