Carmen Hilton

LAWA's Third Board Chair

and Early Founder

This year, during our annual Gala for Education 2024 we will officially presented the "Carmen Hilton Scholarship Fund".

This fund was created by our Board of Directors in honor of Mrs. Hilton, LAWA’s Third Chair and Early Founder. We are beyond grateful for the commitment Carmen has had towards our community for over three decades.

"I feel honored to have this scholarship fund named after me. I am committed to look for the recipients' academic excellence during their college journey." - Carmen Hilton

It is a pleasure to offer this Scholarship to our Latin American youth, giving them the opportunity to achieve their academic goals.

Carmen believes ANY donation in ANY amount is appreciated ($5, $10, any amount). What she looks forward to the most about this scholarship fund is the collective participation of many people.

If you would like to donate towards this Scholarship Fund please click below or contact us.

Throughout our organization's materials the word "Latino(s)" will be used as the term to recognize and describe all of those who identify with Spanish heritage. All of those being a) Latino/a which refers to people who identify as descendants from Latin America and speak Spanish; b) Hispanic in which the word refers to people who speak Spanish and have descended from Spanish speaking populations; and c) Latinx which refers to people choosing to use term that is gender-neutral and an alternative to Latino, Latina, and Hispanic.
